Q: Can I make suggestions for future property selections?

A: Yes, of course. We want your feedback or any suggestions you may have that would make the property portfolio more desirable for our members. We want to provide our members properties in the most popular destinations but we’re always looking for the secret location our members know about and would like to see included in the portfolio.

Q: How can I make reservations?

A: Members have access to our custom designed online reservation system that allows you to view the properties, check amenities and make reservations in real-time. If members need assistance with making a reservation, they can contact a membership director who will walk them through the process and assist with the reservation.

Q: How do I become a club member?

A: For the Silver membership level your first booking with us automatically creates your account (there’s no need to fill out a member agreement for the Silver level). For the Gold and Platinum levels, you can request a membership application be sent to you through our Contact Us page. Simply send in the application for membership and we’ll process your application. After signing the agreement, your annual membership fee, annual retainer and refundable damage deposit will be due. Once your payment has been received, your membership account will be set up and an email will be sent to you in order to create your own password for the Member Login portion of our web site. This will grant you access to the reservation system and your vacation house portfolio.

Q: How do I purchase a Travel Insurance Plan?

A: You can purchase a Vacation Rental Insurance plan directly through your vacation rental company.

Q: How is VacationHouse Destinations different from other destination clubs?

A: VacationHouse Destinations is different because it brings together the flexibility and affordability of nightly rentals with the convenience and accessibility to beautiful vacation homes like a destination club. There are other destination clubs on the market, but they only cater to the select few that can afford premium destination properties at premium prices. By creating exclusive relationships with owners of private residence vacation homes, VacationHouse Destinations becomes the first destination club that does not rely on high membership fees in order to acquire new properties. Property owners become members and enjoy all the benefits the club offers and in turn the club is able to expand the portfolio offerings into new locations to meet the needs of our members and keep membership costs low

Q: How much does it cost to join?

A: The Silver, pay as you go, membership is FREE. The annual fee for Platinum and Gold membership levels vary in conjunction with the number of days in the plan, their nightly discount rate and priority level for making reservations. Because Platinum and Gold members have a different number of days in their plan; the annual retainer varies based on that amount..

Q: How often can I use the properties?

A: There are different levels of club membership with varying amounts of days in each plan to meet individual travel needs. With all membership levels, members may stay for more than their available days in their plan with the discounts (if applicable) that are specified in their plan. Availability of club properties is on a first come, first served basis.

Q: If I’m not happy with my membership, can I get my money back?

A: We will make every effort to ensure you are pleased with your membership. However, if you decide to cancel your membership, we offer a 100 percent refund on the remaining balance of your annual retainer and damage deposit.

Q: Is there a deadline for checkout times?

A: Yes - cleaning rooms, condos, homes and resorts is a big job. It can take hours to make a place spic and span. Housekeepers need to start immediately upon departure. Staying late disrupts the cleaning schedule. Sorry.

Q: What happens after I join the club?

A: Once you are approved for membership, a membership director is available to walk you through the reservation process and answer any questions you may have along the way. You will be e-mailed a link in order to set up your own personalized password that will grant you access to the member site. From there, you’ll be able to view detailed property information, check your available days balance and make reservations. You will have access to the reservation system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need assistance with making a reservation, we’re only a phone call or e-mail away.

Q: What if I fall short of using the number of days in my plan?

A: Platinum members who fall short of their Days in the Plan will only be eligible for a nightly discount of 5% as long as their total yearly rentals are at least 7 nights. Less than 7 nights per year, including Gold members who fall short of their Days in Plan, are not eligible for a discounted rate.

A: VacationHouse Destinations, LLC is the first, truly affordable destination club where members enjoy the experience most like having their own vacation house, but without the costs and maintenance of second home ownership. Members have the ability to choose from a growing portfolio of beautiful, high quality vacation homes for spur-of-the-moment weekend retreats, as well as popular fly-to destination properties.

Q: When can I pay for Travel Insurance?

A: We recommend you pay for the insurance at the time of reservation, however you can purchase Vacation Rental Insurance anytime prior to or with your final trip payment.

Q: Why should I advertise on this website?

A: Specialization. You could get listed on the giant commercial sites which accept any and all kinds of vacation rentals and Holiday Let homes. But Guests usually know what they are looking for before they start. A mountain place, a lake front house, a home at the beach or even in the city. That is why they find us and why they value our listings a bit more and a bit more often.

Q: Will the club continue to add new destinations?

A: Yes. The club will continue to add new properties and destinations to its portfolio as the membership base increases.

Q: I've lost my logon or password. What do I do?

A: No problem. Just go to the Login Page of our website. Look for the "Forgot your Password" link. Or you can call us during business hours.

Q: What is Plumbob Publishing?

A: A plumbob is an old fashioned tool used by carpenters to determine straight up and down. It is a string and a weight which, when allowed to dangle free always reflects a straight line downward. Our company has chosen the word Plumbob to represent our quest to produce straight forward and accurate publications. Some of these are conventional print and other media.
